DAY FIVE

TODAY'S MAIN IDEA:
Learning to experience God in worship is a process that can be aided by
seven simple words:
Creation, Grace, Love, Response, Expression, Presence, and Experience.

Each upcoming week will be given to one of these words and how it relates to the theme of worship.

A summary of our study --
"Each of us was created by God for relationship with Him, but we can only enjoy that relationship by God's grace. God's great love for us, demonstrated in Christ Jesus, initiates our response. The only reasonable and adequate response is our expression of worship. As we worship, God has promised His presence. We can always experience God in worship!" (p. 29, workbook)

Harland gives a definition to each of these seven words. Was there one word that you look forward to understanding more deeply in the coming weeks? Tell me...

I'm so thankful that God has always been the initiator and all we have to do is respond. I look forward to growing in Him and learning with each of you over the next seven weeks.

If you're behind or haven't even begun the study, don't worry--just start this weekend, you won't regret it!

Have a great weekend and I'll be back on the blog bright and early Monday morning as we begin our second week in our study.

As always, feel free to comment, share what God is doing in your life as well as what you're learning through this study! I am truly blessed by all of the comments already and look forward to hearing more as we study God's Word together.

Looking forward to worshiping with you on Sunday!
Blessings,
Ken

  1. The most insight event that I discovered about Worship (many years ago) is that worship is not a noun. Worship is not something you do. It is your heart heart communing with the Father. Clean, whole and declaring the attributes of God. I frequently have time on my hands when the chiopractor hooks me up to a machine to help with some stubborn neck muscles. I silently go through the alphabet declaring attribute of God. It is a great time of worship. . . God you are Available every time I need you. God you so Beautiful. It get challenging toward the end but it a time and focus on the only person I have to please.

  2. Donna,
Thanks for sharing. It is good to declare Who God is because all the glory, honor and praise should go to Him and it tends to keep everything in our lives in perspective. God, You are awesome. God, You are Brilliant!
    Thanks,
    Ken

  4. Love, love, love, 1 Corinthians 3:9-11! "We are God's coworkers. You are God's field, God's building. According to God's grace that was given to me, as a skilled master builder I have laid a foundation, and another builds on it. But each one must be careful how he builds on it, because no one can lay any other foundation than what has been laid - that is, Jesus Christ!" Jesus is our focus!
